When we order Chipotle, my daughter gets a bowl of just rice and meat. But Chioptle still charges the same as if it has every ingredient in the bowl. Not worth it! I figured I could do better for cheaper and sneak a veggie in there as a bonus. This recipe is the result of that though process.

Prep time 10 minutes / Cook time 20-25 minutes

  • Jasmine rice
  • 1 lb. of hangar or skirt steak
  • 1 head of broccoli, chopped and steamed
  • 3 T. soy sauce
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • salt and pepper

Cook jasmine rice according to package instructions. Chop steak into bite size pieces. Heat olive oil in medium size skillet until shimmering. Add steak and season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to taste. Saute steak for about 8 minutes. Add soy sauce and continue to saute until coated, about 3 more minutes. Serve steak and broccoli over rice.
