My husband wishes he could eat potatoes in some form for every meal, and he loves sandwiches. So for Father’s Day this year, I invented this- a breakfast sandwich that manages to squeeze hash browns into the layers for a true “everything except the kitchen sink” approach. If I had some bacon when I made it, you can bet that would have been on there too!
Prep time – 3 minutes / Cook time – 20 minutes
- brioche bun
- scrambled egg (1)
- 1 slice of ham
- 1 piece American cheese
- hash browns the same size as the bun
- 2 pc. bacon (if you feel like it)
Make hash browns as you normally would, scramble an egg and slightly heat up a piece of ham in your pan. Combine all ingredients one on top of the other to make the sandwich in whatever order you like. Switch or add bacon, sausage patty, fried egg for scrambled and whatever cheese floats your boat. It’s the hash browns that make it crunchy as well as savory, so that’s the only one that matters here!
